Mahaparinirvana Stupa

Kushinagara, The capital of Malls also called as kushinara, Kushigarama according to the Mahaprinirvana Sutta, is one of the four most sacred places as declared by Buddha himself. Here Buddha breathed his last and attained Parinirvana on the full moon day of the Vaishakha (April-May ) month.The body is believed to have been cremated with due honors by the Mall as of Kushinagara near Makutabandhana Chaitya. The remains unearthed here they comprise the main Stupa, the Nirvana Temple on a raised platform surrounded by a group of monasteries on the western side, a group of small sized stupa with carved bricks and ornamental plasters on the southern side, a large two tiered brick platform and small sized stups partly concealed beneath the main stupa on the eastern side and votive stupas and monasteries on the northern side.

Buddha Excavated Remains

The remains unearthed here are the results of extensive excavations by carlleyle in 1876 and later by archaeological survey of India between 1904-12,they comprise the main stupa, the Nirvana Temple on a raised platform surrounded by a group of monasteries on the western side, a group of small sized stupas with carved bricks and ornamental pilasters on the southern side, a large two tiered brick platform and small sized stupas partly concealed beneath. The main stupa on the eastern side and votive stupas and monasteries on the northern side ranging in date from the mauryan period (3rd century B.C.) to (10th Century A.D.) numerous antiquities such as inscribed clay seals, gold and silver coins, terracotta figurines have been recovered during the couse of archaeological excavation.

It is an attractive temple and also we can say it is the temple of peace.There is much more silence which is not shown in other temples of the world. The dome-shaped Shakado Hall where this statue is enshrined was apparently built by a religious Shri Lanka & Japan Buddhist organization.

Golden Buddhist Temple

Popularly known as Burmese Temple or Golden Temple by the locals, the Japanese Temple is one of the unique structures and among the most visited tourist destinations in Kushinagar. The temple is a marvel of Buddhist architectural grandeur of modern times. The Atago Isshin World Buddhist cultural Association has built this temple which was generously founded by the Japanese monarchy. The Golden temple is 108 feet in height and measures the same in diameter.

Buddha Bell

Buddha Bell is an ancient bell of Buddhism. There is a hidden mystery of this Buddha Bell. It is believed that at those times the monks of Buddhism were used to this bell. In the middle of Buddha Sarowar there is a Buddhist temple, from there we can see all the water ponds.In this pond there are different types and colors of fishes available here.Tourists throw grains into the pond. The fishes come up and start swimming, tourists enjoy a lot. You cannot see such an enjoyable Sarowar anywhere in India beside the Golden Temple of Kushinagar.
